Blown film extrusion is a plastic manufacturing process that involves blowing the material into thin tubular film for various industrial applications, such as packaging, logistics, agriculture, and construction. This technology produces plastic with precisely controlled thickness, strength, and flexibility.
Blown Film Extrusion Product Types
- Shrink Film
Shrink film is a type of packaging plastic that shrinks when heated to wrap products more tightly, securely, and neatly. It is commonly used on beverage bottles, food items, and retail products to maintain stability and protect against dust and minor damage.
- Stretch Hood
Stretch hood is an elastic plastic in the shape of a hood used to cover an entire pallet; it is applied using a special machine capable of wrapping the pallet from five sides simultaneously.
- Mulch Film
Mulch film is a ground cover for agriculture that helps retain moisture, inhibit weed growth, and boost crop yields. It is typically black or silver for optimal results.
- Top Sheet Pallet / Pallet Sheet Cover
The Pallet Top Sheet protects the top of the pallet from dust, water, and dirt during storage and shipping. It is generally used in conjunction with stretch film for additional protection.
The main advantage of blown film extrusion lies in its versatility. In terms of efficiency, this process is also relatively fast and cost-effective, making it capable of meeting large-scale production needs without compromising quality.
