A geomembrane is a low permeability synthetic membrane liner or barrier used with any geotechnical engineering related material so as to control fluid (or gas) migration in a human-made project, structure, or system. It is widely used to help construction that may be affected by water. It is currently also used in Indonesia as a cheap alternative to keep the water clean in the fishery and help to harvest salt.
